Hello and welcome to Week 6! This week we'll continue with our Greek/Latin Root Words and start Unit 2: All Eyes and Ears. We'll also begin discussing the difference between mood and tone and practice using both in our writing. As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading.
Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins
After completing our summative assessment for Factors & Multiples, we will take our students to a concept that they never experienced yet. We will begin to explore the foundation of Ratios and Proportions where they will connect ratios with a multiplicative relationship between two quantities. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Science- Ms. Parker
We are investigating the properties of matter in science. Students learned about Atoms and Elements and did their first small project in class. This week , we began looking at the effects of heat on the motion of atoms. Next week, we will focus on physical changes of matter and Density. I am impressed with our young scientists, they are very enthusiastic and working well together.
Remember, if a student is absent, it is their responsibility to complete the lessons from Canvas and submit the assignments in a timely manner. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
SCIENCE CLASSROOM NEEDS: Please send in some Clorox wipes if you are able. We are doing a lot of messy labs! ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Social Studies - Ms. Crosson
Greeting Aggie students and parents! This week we will learn about the different types of social scientists and how they help us understand what happened long, long ago. Then, we will begin our journey into the past by learning about early humans and the evolution theory about how they became us. We will also watch a documentary about Otzi, the fossil of a Cro Magnon that was found in the Otzal Alps, a mountain range in Italy. To be the greatest students we can possibly be, remember to bring your charged computer and school supplies daily. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
