Hello and welcome to Week 28! We're in Quarter 3: Facing Challenges. This unit asks us, "when should we stand up for other and ourselves?" We will continue discovering our answers with the start of our novel study, "Tangerine" by Edward Bloor. We're into the thick of Part Two discussing concepts like point-of-view, conflict, summarization techniques and symbolism. We are continuing with our Greek/Latin Root Words and have officially started book two! That means we're on Unit 2: "We Are Family." As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading. Absences- If a student is absent, they are responsible for making up all missed work in a timely manner. This can be done through Canvas. There is a message on our Canvas homepage with specific directions on what to do when absent. Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins
This week we will continue to navigate through concepts of the coordinate plane. In concluding the unit, students will move from extending the coordinate plane to graphing geometric figures on the plane. They will solve real world problems with geometric shapes in all four quadrants on the coordinate plane. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Science- Ms. Parker
