Hello and welcome to Week 17! It's our final week before Winter Break and we'll be discussing winter traditions in connection with our tradition research project from last week. We are continuing with our Greek/Latin Root Words and start Unit 12: "It Takes Two." As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading. Absences- If a student is absent, they are responsible for making up all missed work in a timely manner. This can be done through Canvas. There is a message on our Canvas homepage with specific directions on what to do when absent. Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins
This week in math, we will review and conclude our brief unit on Division of Fractions. We explored multiple problem-solving strategies from creating models to solving equations and will allow the students to demonstrate their understanding through both formal and performance assessments. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Science- Ms. Parker
Such excitement this past week. Ask your student about dissecting a cow eye! Monday, we will be taking the Unit Test for Thermal Energy and Waves. We have reviewed in class and allocated time to make up missing work. Our next Unit is the Solar System and we will get started on that content before winter break. I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable break. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Social Studies - Ms. Crosson This week we will explore world religions. We will learn about the origins, spread, and influence that world religions had on the development of the ancient world. We will also discuss the influence that religion still has on our society even today! If time permits, we will also complete missing assignments and get extra help that we may need to be successful this school year.
Reminders: -Wear your mask correctly (above the nose and below the chin) - Bring a fully charged laptop to school every day in addition to the basic school supplies -Keep your personal area clean and sanitized - Check Power School for your grades and to see if you need to make up any missing assignments ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
