Hello and welcome to Week 8! This week we'll continue with our Greek/Latin Root Words and start Unit 5: "." We'll begin working on suspenseful writing and how we use mood within our writing to create a certain atmosphere for our reader. As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading. Absences- If a student is absent, they are responsible for making up all missed work in a timely manner. This can be done through Canvas. There is a message on our Canvas homepage with specific directions on what to do when absent. Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins

WOW, we have completed the content for our first Unit! Students have used class time to review this week and we took the Unit Test on Friday. Our next Unit is Thermal Energy and Waves which is a lot of new content for our young scientists. Hopefully we can be in class so that we can do all the fun labs associated with this Unit. This week, we will be investigating the different types of heat transfer and how different materials are suited for their purpose based on their response to heat. REMEMBER if your student is absent, they are responsible for making up the missed content and assignments from Canvas in a timely manner. Students are familiar with knowing how to do this. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Social Studies - Ms. Crosson
