Hello and welcome to Week 12! This week we'll continue with our Greek/Latin Root Words and start Unit 8: "And Your Name Is?" We're continuing with our Unit 2: Ancient Realms with a focus on female leaders throughout history. We are also working on our understanding of finding and explaining text evidence when using it within our writing. As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading. Absences- If a student is absent, they are responsible for making up all missed work in a timely manner. This can be done through Canvas. There is a message on our Canvas homepage with specific directions on what to do when absent. Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins This week in math, we will continue our pursuit of percent concept. Students will engage in estimating benchmark percent to calculate the percent of various quantities and reinforce their understanding of part-to-whole relationships. By the end of the week, we will be prepared for our cumulative assessment on the Ratio and Proportions unit. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Science- Ms. Parker This week, students will be learning about sound and how humans are able to perceive sound. We will have some fun lab stations set up to investigate the different characteristics of sound waves.
Absences: If a student misses class, they are expected to catch up both the day’s lesson and any associated assignments from Canvas. All students know how to do this. Work can be submitted electronically or on paper when they return. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Social Studies - Ms. Crosson
