Hello and welcome to Week 16! This week we'll be a little all over the place since on Tuesday and Wednesday we'll be testing for DPS' Case 21. On Thursday and Friday we'll be completing a traditions project were we look at the various traditions we celebrate as individuals. We are continuing with our Greek/Latin Root Words and start Unit 11: "1 Is The Longest Number". As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading. Absences- If a student is absent, they are responsible for making up all missed work in a timely manner. This can be done through Canvas. There is a message on our Canvas homepage with specific directions on what to do when absent. Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins

This year is flying by! This week is a testing week so our schedule is very irregular. We are nearing the end of our Thermal Energy and Waves Unit and plan to give the unit test on Monday, December 13th. We will spend time in class next week reviewing the content and we also plan to do the much anticipated cow eye dissection to actually see and touch some of the structures we will be learning about. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Social Studies - Ms. Crosson This week we will learn about the civilization of Ancient China. Together we will explore what it was like to live in China during the Warring States period as well as when China was finally unified under the leadership of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi. We will discuss one of the most famous ancient building projects known today as the Great Wall of China. We will also take time to complete missing assignments to improve grades.
Reminders: -Wear your mask correctly (above the nose and below the chin) - Bring a fully charged laptop to school every day in addition to the basic school supplies -Keep your personal area clean and sanitized - Check Power School for your grades and to see if you need to make up any missing assignments ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
