Hello and welcome to Week 11! This week we'll continue with our Greek/Latin Root Words and start Unit 7: "I Like to Move It Move It." We'll begin Unit 2: Ancient Realms with a non-fiction piece about Egyptian pharaoh, Hatshepsut and other women who have held positions of power throughout history. As always, we're working on our reading stamina with 10 minutes, daily, of free reading. Absences- If a student is absent, they are responsible for making up all missed work in a timely manner. This can be done through Canvas. There is a message on our Canvas homepage with specific directions on what to do when absent. Please make sure your student comes to class every day with their ELA folder, a charged Chromebook and their Chromebook charging cord. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Math - Mr. Collins

The next few days we will be investigating waves and their properties. Students will be making connections between waves that can be seen and those that cannot such as sound and light waves.
Student absences: If a student is absent, they are responsible for completing the lesson from Canvas.(This includes the reading, videos, simulations etc - not just the graded assignment) This is very new material and the basic concepts cannot be missed. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Social Studies - Ms. Crosson
